One Cardiff City! Fergie, Fred and the FA Cup
One team. Two remarkable men. A moment that made history.
In 1927, Cardiff City achieved the extraordinary — becoming the first, and still the only, team from outside England to lift the FA Cup.
But behind that historic victory were two remarkable footballers whose journeys couldn’t have been more different.
Fred Keenor, the determined Cardiff captain who fought his way back from a devastating wartime injury. Hughie “Fergie” Ferguson, the gifted Scottish goalscorer who left his home and family roots behind to chase a new dream in Wales.
As their paths come together, friendship, ambition and sheer determination lead them towards one of the greatest moments in Welsh sporting history.
Written by Grahame Lloyd and presented by Array Theatre Productions, One Cardiff City! Fergie, Fred and the FA Cup brings this incredible true story to the stage in a moving, humorous and heartfelt celebration of courage, camaraderie and the beautiful game.
You don’t have to love football to love this story.
Join us as we celebrate 100 years since Cardiff City’s unforgettable FA Cup triumph.
